Being on the countryside of Germany this weekend, I met a nice farmer yesterday. After I told him that I am a Trader his initial reaction was just the one I expected: “Argghh, just another bankster, robbing us out and destroying the world.”
After that he told me some interesting facts about the farming industry and when I asked how much people are out of work due to Technology and other Rationalization, I just couldnt believe his answer: Compared to 1970, 19 out of 20 people who worked on a farm are now not needed any longer…
So what does this mean for the argument that technology helps to create Jobs?
What ya say?
